Savante is in the process of completing the second draft of an untitled murder mystery. Detective Lostek García left his policing career in Mexico in order to continue his work in the place which shares some history with his home town; Cornwall. The case sees Lostek investigating the murder of local pianist George Tregoon, killed shortly after his performance which won him a place on the Hall For Cornwall’s newly renovated stage. Could the musician have been killed by the man he defeated, holiday homes owner Alastair Winston, or perhaps by disgruntled piano student Simon Pound? As well as being an entertaining mystery, the narrative also comments on the state of Cornwall’s housing crisis and the tension between locals and second home owners.
